Overview

Lupin is comprised of a fast growing, innovative and robust team of manufacturing, Research and Development and commercial divisions. Together these entities make up the generic and branded U.S. business. Lupin has a significant generic pipeline, and a branded focus on women’s health. Our first Research and Development facility in the US is located in Coral Springs, Florida which focuses on generic and branded orally inhaled and nasal drug products. Somerset, New Jersey is home to one of Fifteen commercial manufacturing sites globally and the only commercial manufacturing facility in the United States for Lupin, as well as additional Research and Development teams. Responsibilities

Reporting to the President, Global Business Development, BD Evaluation, Market Insights & Forecasting will be a key member of the Lupin Global Business Development business, assessing opportunities that are strategic to Lupin and providing insight into investment decisions for the company. This position will add value to the overall Gx /Brand business globally by providing evaluation of the commercial rationale conducting market research/analysis, due diligence, and adding competitive intelligence insights. From Pharmaceutical markets and Biotech with a focus on Developed markets (US/EU)

Given the uniqueness of this role and its importance to the company the incumbent will have to be flexible and ‘wear many hats’. This is a “roll up your sleeves and do” opportunity.  The individual will need to possess an ability to think strategically about the opportunities that they evaluate and work with various parts of the organization to assess and influence the key decision makers in the company to reach a decision on whether to pursue or decline. The incumbent must be a dynamic thinker and presenter who will often have to present their findings to the senior management team, including the CEO of Lupin

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Assess strategically relevant, value-adding opportunities in the Rx arena at all stages of development with a near term focus on marketed, approved or late-stage clinical development opportunities.
  • Create Forecast Models assessing the viability of potential opportunities and in different pricing/ countries regulations.
  • Partner with the Business/Corporate Development, Legal (IP), and Commercial teams in assessing opportunities.
  • Create a high-level implementation strategy if the opportunity is a “yes”.
  • Present a rationale to senior management for recommendations not to pursue various opportunities.
  • Continually access and analyze the specialty therapeutic markets to proactively generate new business opportunities
  • Experienced in using IQVIA, Global data, evaluate pharma etc. the individual shall be able to create board level presentation documents

Education and Experience

 

  • BA in Biology, or similar Degree required; MBA Preferred 
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 7-8 years of relevant work experience in pharmaceutical industry or consulting industry either in a Marketing role or Business Development (with a focus on Evaluation).
  • Ideal candidates will demonstrate through their experience a strong business orientation and mastery of advanced business and marketing concepts and practices.
  • The successful candidate must be highly regarded with a strong network, an impressive track record of delivery within their previous function, and a strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical sector.
  • A high degree of commercial and strategic awareness is essential. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a results-oriented culture and will be accountable for driving process excellence that results in the execution of transactions.

An ideal candidate may have a mix of the following functional experiences and competencies:

 

  • Knowledge of drug development and the risks associated with the development and regulatory processes.
  • Experience with specialty therapeutic areas and Generics is an advantage.
  • In depth knowledge of market research technologies, models and analyses.
  • Experience of leadership in operating roles within an established pharmaceutical or Biotechnology Company.
  • Proficiency in generating and working with forecasts and financial models.
  • Ability to work closely with and influence senior leadership.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and perform well across multiple roles
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this position.
  • Excellent project and time management skills should be demonstrable from previous accomplishments
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Willingness to travel worldwide as needed

Physical Requirements

Generally work is performed in an office environment.
