Together these entities make up the generic and branded U.S. business. Lupin has a significant generic pipeline, and a branded focus on women’s health. Our first Research and Development facility in the US is located in Coral Springs, Florida which focuses on generic and branded orally inhaled and nasal drug products. Somerset, New Jersey is home to one of twelve commercial manufacturing sites globally and the only commercial manufacturing facility in the United States for Lupin, as well as additional Research and Development teams. Responsibilities

The Portfolio Assessment Analyst will help to identify and contextualize critical business issues, and work to communicate an objective and unbiased point of view into business conversation. He/she will need to partner effectively with other functions (Portfolio Development, Marketing, Market Research, R&D, Finance, IP, CI) to identify logical and defendable forecast assumptions, and support the data driven strategic decision-making process. The Portfolio Assessment Analyst will be responsible for focusing on the critical pipeline products from a commercial assessment perspective.  Moreover, the Portfolio Assessment Analyst will work closely with Portfolio Management group to prioritize development plans by evaluating existing and potential pipeline products.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Support function to enhance frequency and accuracy of forecasting for generic pharmaceutical products (Oral, Injectables / complex injectables, inhalational products etc.) and business development activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to evaluate and forecast the commercial potential of innovative 505b2 and complex products
  • Effectively explain modeling assumptions to key stakeholders including senior leadership and triangulate assumptions with other data and forecasting model to pressure test them and develop “what if” scenarios.
  • Create and maintain commercial assessments to be utilized to support the company requirements relating to annual budgets, strategic plans, capacity expansions, pipeline review, business opportunities and recurring financial projections.
  • Perform market trend forecasting to project product profit, to visualize fundamental performance indicators, and to find new business opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain a network of secondary and primary research information in support of planned generic and innovative products to develop product launch plans and strategies.
  • Provide market intelligence and insight to establish strategic and tactical marketing plans.
  • Develop reports and analyze the effectiveness of standard business assumptions for various aspects of product forecasting, including but not limited to generic sub-rate, market share and pricing using data analytics tools.
  • Develop and maintain forecast vs actual reports for launched products and utilize analytical insights to improve forecast accuracy of pipeline products.
  • Gain expertise in EPM planning tool to become a superuser and design consolidated reports required by stakeholders in organization such as pipeline volumes etc.
  • Assist IPMG team to align Lupin’s pipeline products with sales forecasts demonstrating market trends, market saturation and potential NPV.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and strong working relationships with Sales, Financial Planning & Analysis, Regulatory, R&D, IP, BD, and IPMG teams.

 

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required in Science, Business or Marketing (Advanced degree is preferred).
  • A well-rounded professional with 2+ years’ experience in the Generic Rx pharmaceutical industry, specifically in areas of sales, marketing or supply and logistics. Familiarity with commercial assessment of innovative 505b2 products is desirable.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and marketing principles. Familiarity with regulatory framework for pharmaceutical products is desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills, prior experience working with forecasts, analyzing market research results to turn data into actionable insights, and a strong focus on business analytics to improve and grow the business.
  • Demonstrated excellence in generic sales or marketing and effectively managing multiple projects/priorities on-time and within budget.
  • Working knowledge of competitive intelligence sources such as IQVIA, Cortellis, Globaldata, Evaluate, IPD and company financial filings etc. for commercial assessment purposes.
  • Proficiency in computer technology including the Microsoft suite of tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and others). Experience with data analytics software such as Tableau, Alteryx and Power BI is desirable but not required.
  • Solid skills and knowledge in Mathematical Model, Numerical Analysis, Optimization Analysis, Portfolio Management, Regression Analysis, Risk Analysis, Statistical Methodologies. 
  • Highly skilled in all forms of communication (i.e. oral, written, presentation) at team, peer and executive levels.
  • Ability to operate and influence in a diverse and complex matrix environment, and ability to build sustainable social relationships within the organization and with customers.

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements of the position generally include: standing, walking, sitting, using hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms, talking and hearing. In some circumstances, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, and crawling may apply. This position may require lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally. Generally work is performed in an office environment.
