  • Overview

    The Safety Coordinator reports directly to the Senior Manager, Environmental Health and Safety. The Coordinator is responsible for all safety related support functions for the EHS department including training coordination, creation and implementation of positive reinforcement programs, tracking and maintaining metrics, creating reports, scheduling and meeting with vendors, and invoice processing.  This role works closely with manufacturing, engineering, maintenance teams as well as support staff in order to accomplish the site’s safety compliance goals. This is an extremely fast-paced role which requires the ability to be flexible, prioritize, multi-task, and meet multiple deadlines.  




    • Assists in the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures and programs in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations (OSHA, NFPA, etc.)
    • Develop, coordinate and/or conduct training related to health and safety compliance and drills.
    • Coordinate/conduct safety and health related testing and monitoring (respirator program and hearing conservation).
    • Coordinate and/or conducts incident and event response and investigation.
    • Coordinate/conduct EH&S related inspections.
    • Maintain/communicate EH&S performance, trend analysis and recordkeeping.
    • Collect data and reports on all EH&S incidents and is responsible for all record keeping and reports required by the regulations, including but not limited to OSHA 300 Log, etc.
    • Track EH&S near misses and follow up on EH&S related issues.
    • Drive execution of tactical and strategic initiatives in order to eliminate hazards and reduce or eliminate the associated risks (Job Hazard Assessments, Area Inspections, and Area Audits).
    • Obtain/review purchase orders for vendors and submittal.
    • Active participation in Safety Teams.
    • Other tasks as assigned



    • BS Degree in occupational health and safety or other relevant field preferred.
    • 2+ years’ experience in related field, preferred.
    • Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and other applicable industry EHS standards.
    • Excellent computer skills. Proficiency with the use of MS Word, and/or Excel.
