Overview

This is a critical role in the Engineering department as a working engineer position which includes responsibility to effectively coordinate the service/maintenance documentation of Lupin Somerset equipment and machinery in the manufacturing, packaging, warehouses, and corporate office facilities. This is function is key to maintain the GMP documentation compliance and system maintenance at the Somerset site.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Equipment Master List, Calibration and Preventive Maintenance schedules and technical completion of documentation through SAP system.
  • Process the department Invoices through Omni flow financial system and address any purchase order related issues.
  • Maintain the weekly facility temperature and humidity circular chart records.
  • Daily monitor the building management system (BMS) and take corrective action if any.
  • Provide support to the engineering mechanics
  • Daily performance monitoring and documentation of critical utilities and process equipment
  • Quality system documentation and change control preparation
  • Implement the calibration procedure and schedule of all instruments
  • Ensure that SOPs are followed in operating and servicing of engineering, packaging and manufacturing equipment
  • Attend to emergency breakdown work for the equipment when the situation arises
  • Participate in the execution of Installation, Operational and Performance qualifications protocol for Engineering, Manufacturing and Packaging equipment
  • Carry out preventive maintenance and calibration schedule for engineering, manufacturing, packaging department equipment
  • Preparation of purchase orders of engineering materials
  • Increase machine efficiency by improved maintenance practices to avoid production losses
  • Participate in the engineering department meetings and implement the company’s strategic Plan.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of engineering department.
  • Prepare and maintain the stock of engineering items of the department
  • Follow the regulations of cGMP, OSHA, DEA etc.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the company operations, procedures and documents
  • Coordinate with vendors when needed for outside calibration, pest control, and other third party services
  • Perform any other duties as and when assigned by the management.

Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters in Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline preferred

1+ years' previous experience in pharma or similar industry is required

Electrical system knowledge and experience: 2+ years

Troubleshooting and repair Industrial safety equipment set-up

Hazardous Material handling

Electro/ pneumatic troubleshooting

Ability to install, repair and troubleshoot critical electrical/mechanical systems from 480v to 120V

Technical operations of emergency generators, and distribution systems

Operation and maintenance in manufacturing and research environment

Above average computer and technical skills, SAP experience a plus

Physical Environment

The physical requirements of the position generally include: standing, walking, sitting, using hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms, talking and hearing. In some circumstances, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, and crawling may apply. This position may require lifting up to 30 pounds occasionally. Generally work is performed in a manufacturing environment.
